smash and grab

"Smash and grab is the order of the day"
Where colonizer meets sous chef
8 billion mouths moaning "more, more..."
Well, more like 325 million
Licking their bloated fingers, smacking their guilty lips
Haven't you noticed the gluttonous are always the most guilty?
And the most debased
To a consistent diet of fat, sugar
Refined starches,
Tin, ore, silicon,
Blood.
Because through the mirror of miles
Lies Mount Sinai's darker brother
Picked away and left to scar
Like a teenage blemish
Smashed and grabbed and twisted and squeezed
Until nothing is left but a crater of flesh
And in that crater the solder soldier sleeps
Or tries to, because ore is his alarm
And the sun hasn't set yet in China
He will die on the mountain like Moses
(Except no one will publish his personhood)
Staring up at the warplanes flying overhead
With their familiar hum, or is that God
"Smash and grab, smash and grab, smash and grab."
