spring

Spring erupted,
Pollen, filling lungs like ash
A low cloud of white lilies

I, forager, explorer
Watched the worship unfold
A surrender to sunshine
A defrost decathlon.

But just as you, lover,
left like lava
Burned where you touched me
Pulled me under, drowned me in your heat

Spring whispered in my ear
Breath hot and heavy
and left without locking the door
